As a new resident of Cecil County Maryland I was so unaware of all the resources that are available to small businesses. That has changed. This past friday I had an incredible meeting with a dynamic member of the SBDC (Small Business Development Center) in Elkton Md. His name is Mike Garrity and what a wealth of information he was. We met for 2 hours and I learned so much about networking as well as what is available for small businesses. I encourage anyone that is looking to take their business to the next level to seek out the government help in their area and use it to their advantage.

The home based industry is an ever evolving entity where if you don't keep up with the trends the market will swallow you whole. This is the dilemma that befell our organization as the market and economy took a dive. So what is the solution? In our opinion it is smart to reevaluate the market , our customer and revamp our products. There will always be clients if you have a good product but the key is finding out how to reach them in addition to showing them that your product fits their need.

Our industry is travel and more specifically discount travel. As people are tightening their belts the word discount shines out like a beacon of light in a dark tunnel. This can and must be looked at positive to anyone in a home based business. If you can offer a product at a better overall price to the consumer be sure to advertise this to the hilt.

By studying the market and its changes you can use this recession to make a fortune as branding yourself as the go to business in hard times. As the months go on we will be constantly tweaking our business plan to accommodate the ever changing market and suggest you do the same.
